Another promising MUN Delegation for 2019

On 14 September, 20 Première students gathered at the gates of the Canadian International School in Wong Chuk Hang for FIS' inaugural participation in the 4th CDNISMUN.

Our delegates faced a number of challenges, among which was creating new committees when over half the delegates were experiencing MUN for the first time.

As has become the norm, FIS performed admirably, with 13 of our delegates being the main submitters and 9 of the resolutions passing.

Had Typhoon Mangkhut not cut the conference short by a day, it is likely more would have been passed.

All credit for the success of our delegation goes to our student Directors, Clémence and Amélie, who put the delegates through a rigorous training programme that started in May and continued throughout the summer. More encouragingly, three of the main submitters were not from the OIB programme which demonstrates the profound impact that participating in MUN can have on students' abilities and confidence to communicate effectively and engage in debate.

The next conference planned is in November at the Victoria Shanghai Academy in Hong Kong, with CISSMUN and SIMUN to follow early 2019.

We encourage all Lycée students to consider applying.
