Teacher of English, International Secondary Stream Job Outline:

Contract Term: Two years renewable from mid-August 2026

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a teacher of English at FIS. We are seeking an inspirational and energetic person to teach in the International Secondary Stream. The successful candidate will have a proven track record of academic success, innovation and development throughout their career.

This is a period of growth for the Secondary section of the International Stream, with extra classes at Jardine’s Lookout planned from August 2026. Our Year 7-9 classes take an English course which is planned thematically following the IMYC guidelines. IGCSE students all take courses in First Language English and English Literature. At IB level, the school offers both English Literature A HL and SL and English Language & Literature A in group 1 at HL and SL.

We are seeking a teacher who will:

• Have a deep knowledge of international curriculums including IGCSE and IB, with IMYC or MYP experience an advantage
• Be well qualified with an internationally accepted degree and teaching qualification.
• Be a dynamic, forward-thinking professional with an interest in using tech tools to design engaging and exciting lessons. The candidate should have a proven track record of excellence in the classroom and have developed collaboration skills in order to contribute to the growth and future direction of the faculty;
• Be an outstanding teacher who is passionate about learning and teaching and sets high expectations for every student;
• Be able to work collaboratively with a team of teachers
• Be internationally-minded and culturally sensitive;
• Be committed to fostering a culture of continuous improvement;
