Report on February 26th Board Meeting
The Board of Directors of FIS met for its fifth session of the year on Monday the 26th of February. In a continued spirit of United and Sound Governance, here is a summary of the information that was discussed, considered, and voted.
The Board assembled at our Chai Wan Campus where the members enjoyed a facility-wide tour; they garnered insight into daily life at the campus and the opportunities it presents for our strategic objective of cross-stream, cross-division, and cross-campus collaboration and identity amongst our community members.
Our finance committee then presented a summary of their answers to questions given by the Board about the proposed 24-25 budget. They took time to answer additional questions from several board members. The budget will be finalised and presented at the next session.
A vote was then taken to approve our Audited Financial Statements provided by KPMG.
The meeting was then finished by an impactful update from our Deputy Head of School Mr. Ian Clayton. In line with the schools strategic plan to strengthen our child protection framework and practice, Mr. Clayton shared with the Board a comprehensive review of an organisation-wide Safeguarding & Child Protection Policy. He spoke on several key topics related to the safety of children. These topics included what digital frameworks can be implemented to help us accomplish this strategic objective, and how they could be implemented at the organisational level. The finalised policy will be presented to the Board for adoption in the March meeting.
The next board meeting will be held on the 25th of March.
