Coursework Art Exhibition : “Natural Forms”

Issue 50: 19/1/2024 Blue Pool Road News (Reflections and Achievements) Y11

An exhibition of student productions in IGCSE Art & Design will bring together studies and quality paintings from January 17 to February 2, 2024, at the BPR Campus. (5th floor).

After working the past weeks on their Coursework, while providing Observational studies, Research & Analysis, Developing Ideas and experimenting with various techniques, Year 11 Art students were able to provide their final outcome through an 8 hours exam on January 9, 2024. Challenging for sure! Even if the day was long, they were well prepared with their previous studies and supporting work. They skilfully combined the graceful forms of flowers, leaves, animals, insects, birds, shells, even jellyfish and marine life, in fact anything they  can find in nature. They were inspired by many artists such as Claude Monet, Georgia O’Keefe, Robert Kurchner, Tobe Kan, and  Beto Val. Experimenting with organic forms within various angles and closeup, they also focused on an approach to realism, using techniques such as watercolour, acrylic paints, collage and stencil. The final outcome are beautiful paintings on large scale paper ( 60x42cm).
