Opportunities in IS Primary

Issue 37: 22/9/2023 From the Principal

Our Students are spirited and confident

In our early years (Nursery and Reception) at CW and TKO, we will be inviting parents to “stay and play” and discover how our youngest learners learn through the IEYC curriculum. Parents will also be invited to be “secret readers” to surprise our Early Years students by reading stories from their home country in their mother tongue.

This year’s primary assemblies focus on personal goals and 17 sustainable development goals (SDGs).  We are currently looking at SDG 13 Climate Change.  You can find out more about the sustainable development goals here. The IEYC and IPC units this year have links to different  SDGs. All students across CW, TKO and JL will follow the same annual curriculum overviews. You can find these in the parent handbooks.

We have lots of exciting Entry Points to engage students in their new units of IEYC or IPC learning.  Attached are some photos from the year one “Brainwave” unit.

From next week, parents will be invited to information meetings about overnight camps from Year 3 to Year 6. These are planned by the same company to ensure there is progression from Year 3 to Year 6.

From Year 4 onwards, our students will be able to engage in many sports teams and play in matches and tournaments. For example, this week, we had a Netball tournament at Wong Chuk Hang for Year 5 and Year 6 students.

Our Teachers are Talented and supportive.

Our counsellors from St. Johns are on all three of our campuses.
