The career forum is a valuable tool for our students to define and build their career plans.

Our students are lucky, they do not lack resources to think about and build their career plans during their schooling – choice of compulsory and optional subjects, section or even field of study… – or after obtaining their French Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate.

Resources that are above all made of flesh and bone – they are the most important, and include first and foremost, the teachers and guidance counsellors, but also the many other contributors, some more or some less in the spotlight such as our librarians, our health and school life assistants, our Pedagogical Department… and many others who provide the conditions for the concrete realisation of students’ learning, projects and activities – computer services, events, communication, maintenance.

All human resources then … and this is not the end of the story, but before speaking further about these resources, it is necessary to mention the material or immaterial resources at the disposal of our students, which are the documentary resources, computers, brochures, data and knowledge base, websites.

Let’s continue on the human resources that gravitate around our students… they are professionals, employed by the school as well as volunteers such as members of an association, socio-professional actors, and of course the parents of our students.

These last ones are there, as they always were before the interruption imposed by a certain virus.

At the career forum on Saturday, 11th February, for more than 200 students in the two streams – from Y10 to Y13 and from 3ème to Terminale – there were 45 of them.

From the doctor to the lawyer, the photographer, the psychologist, the diplomat, the university professor, the airline pilot, the computer scientist, the engineer, the banker, the buyer, the salesman, the insurance agent, the logistician, the publisher… they were the professionals who shared their experience and knowledge with our students – future professionals in their own right – in search of advice and information to make an informed choice for their future!

The career forum for the students was an opportunity for each student to discover up to 5 careers … a career every 30 minutes for 3 hours!

It was a success, the parents told us of their pleasure and satisfaction participating in this type of event, and the students reported the richness of the testimonies and the exchanges!

We thank the parents for their participation and the small group of students, Juliette, Yilou, Justine, Elaine and Inika for their commitment to make this moment a success for all of us!
