Primary Sports Fixtures Report: 1st-3rd December

Issue 12: 9/12/2022

Thursday 1st December

Last Thursday we took two boys football teams to Glenealy School, where we competed in a mini tournament. It was wonderful to see the boys playing with determination and resilience. It was also nice to see many players’ confidence increase and improve over the course of the afternoon. Results –  we won many games and competed well, with one FIS team winning all of their fixtures.

HKPSSA Football Festival – Friday 2nd December

On Friday we journeyed to the Jockey Club HKFA Football Training Centre with a girls and a boys football team. There were 13 schools playing in the girls tournament and 16 schools playing in the boys tournament.

All of our students were excited to attend such a large tournament at such an impressive venue, however they were not overwhelmed and performed extremely well, with the girls performing admirably and the boys winning their group, progressing to the ‘diamond league’ and coming 3/16 schools. I was very impressed with the professionalism and approach to the games each FIS student took and I  commend them all on their positive focussed attitudes. A fantastic representation and great results.

HKPSSA Netball Festival – Saturday 3rd December

On Saturday we had a very early start for our FIS students, supporters and teachers with a 7am departure!

Our destination, Harrow School, and the HKPSSA netball competition, in which we had two teams competing.  Both teams progressed into the top league, after the group stages,  which was wonderful, but at the same time terrible, as they had to play each other!

All the players played to the best of their ability and represented our school with pride and dignity.  We rounded off the day with excellent placings of 5th and 6th out of 16.
