Y12-13 Outing to Crossroads

Issue 02: 23/9/2022 Blue Pool Road News (Reflections and Achievements) Y12, Y13 , , , , ,

This week, our Year 12 and 13 students spent two days each at the Crossroads Foundation, a charity involved in supporting people in need in Hong Kong and abroad. Our students learnt about issues of global significance such as HIV/ AIDS, fair trade and living with blindness, and they also worked collaboratively packing and recycling clothes, cleaning donated computers and preparing meals – to name just a few of the activities they undertook. These activities are directly related to the IB CAS learning outcomes as well as the IB learner profile and enabled our students to take concrete action to be active global citizens.

This was also a great opportunity to learn outside the classroom and spend more time to gel as year groups. Indeed, it was a milestone, as it marked the first International Secondary school outing in two years!

Judging by the smiles and the feedback of our students, it is fair to say this has been a fulfilling experience for all involved. They showed themselves to be positive, open minded, friendly, cheerful and a joy to be around.
