Year 2011-2012 - October - Exceptional concert in Hong Kong by Quatuor Manfred24/10/2011

 

On the occasion of the "Burgundy Week" organised by the French Chamber in Hong Kong, the acclaimed Quatuor Manfred will be giving an exceptional concert on Monday 24th October at 8pm in the auditorium of the French International School, Jardine's Lookout. Proceeds from the evening will go to the association "Les enfants du Mékong" and the Fund "Fonds des amis du lycée".

Formed in 1986, this quartet is internationally renowned. In 1989, they were first prize winners of the Evian and Banff International String Quartet Competitions.Their first CD (Schönberg) won the Grand Prix de la Nouvelle Académie du Disque Français. Their recording of the 2nd and the 3rd Quartet by Schumann was awarded "10" in Repertoire and "Must" in Compact. Their Smetana CD won a CHOC in Le Monde de la Musique. Their last CD (zig-zagTerritoire/HarmoniaMundi) with works by Webern, Schönberg and Berg has received critical acclaim from the music press.

All members of the quartet are teaching at the Dijon Conservatory and are also artistic directors of a festival taking place in the Roman Churches of Burgundy each September, called "Musiques en voûtes".
