International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE)

The International General Certificate of Secondary Education (IGCSE) is an international qualification for school students from 14–16 year olds. IGCSE was developed by University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) in 1988, and is currently offered as a qualification by CIE and London Examinations. It develops successful students, giving them excellent preparation for their next steps in education, including progression to A and AS Level study.

Students from both sections can participate in the exams.

Form 5 - 100% success

65% of all the grades awarded across 15 subjects were A* or A.

A* - C = 95%

a) All 25 students who sat for Foreign Language French a year early were awarded an A*

b) All 10 students who sat for Foreign Language Mandarin a year early were awarded an A*

Outstanding Cambridge Learner Awards, Hong Kong

  • Natalie Chung who gained the first highest overall mark in Hong Kong for Best Across Nine Cambridge IGCSE's in the June 2011 Cambridge examinations,
  • Lukas Vacek who gained the third highest overall mark in Hong Kong for Best Across Nine Cambridge IGCSE's in the June 2011 Cambridge examinations,
  • and Ferdinand Lu who gained the highest mark in the world for Foreign Language French.

  • Excellent results for Form 4 – Foreign Language French: 100% A*

  • 71.27% of all grades awarded were A* or A
  • 99.44% of all grades awarded were A* - C
  • A number of students have now received 10 A*, 9 A*, 8 A* in their IGCSE subjects – a remarkable achievement

Form 4

  • Excellent results for Form 4 – Foreign Language French: 100% A* or A

IGCSE results 2008

The IGCSE results were outstanding for Form 5 in 2008:

  • 80% of all the grades awarded were A* or A.
  • 99.57% of all the grades awarded were A* – C

Excellent results for Form 4 – Foreign Language French IGCSE:

  • All 15 students received an A*
