The rugby program at FIS continues to grow positively. Our school teams continue to perform with distinction against other leading International and ESF Schools in a very competitive league structure.
The program is directed by Rod McIntosh who is Head of International Physical Education, an ex International rugby player and Hong Kong 7s Coach.
The school has a very successful boys and girls program which is designed around concepts of skill development, teamwork, physical fitness, competition play and fun.

NEWS: Great results for FIS Rugby in February 2012!
The A Grade Boys recently won Silverware at the Bill Williams interschool 7s rugby tournament. The team was lead well by Sebastian Stiles with good performances from Jonathon Cimmerbeck, Hugo Stiles and Julian Bongrain. The team played some exciting attacking rugby and enjoyed a very competitive afternoon of 7s rugby.
B/C Grade boys - U16s
FIS Vs South Island School - FIS Won 25-20
FIS Vs CDNIS - FIS Won 58-0
FIS Vs Renaissance College - Lost 35-20
The B grade team has put together some really structured performances. Players who have dominated in this division with outstanding play are Tim Evans, Jonathan Cimmerbeck and Hugo Stiles. Most improved have been Jason Chan, Colin McCullough and Alex Shvets.
D Grade boys - U12s
The D Grade Boys Rugby Team are off to great start to their seasons with two good wins over Island school 15-10 and West Island school 20-5. A very solid team effort involving strong forward play and exciting back attack helped construct the wins at the very competitive interschool competitions.
The players are involved in two more tournaments on 23rd February and 8th March.
Girls Junior
FIS Under 16 team and Under 14 run remain beaten this season with convincing wins over Island school, South Island and HKIS.
The Under 16 team has many of the girls who travelled to the Rugby World Cup in New Zealand and they are demonstrating a much greater understanding of the games and its concepts. There has been some excellent play from Tissia Polycarpe (top try scorer) Margerie De Lambilly and Emily Spencer.
The Under 14s are playing competitively for the first time and have managed to win both their fixtures. The girls are enjoying playing contact and are playing some nice attacking rugby. Well done.
